News Stand: Sap-dripping trees prompt a meeting
Friday, June 29, 2007
Sap-dripping, sidewalk-lifting trees are a problem in many San Jose neighborhoods, including those in District 1. Residents are encouraged to meet with Councilman Pete Constant on June 30 from 10 a.m. to noon to discuss tree-specific issues and possible solutions at the West Valley branch library, 1243 San Tomas Aquino Road. The meeting is part of a six-month process to review and revise the current city ordinances.
Rhonda Berry, president of Our City Forrest, a nonprofit group with the goal of maintaining an urban forest, will also give information on regulatory efforts, tree inventory and the overall goals of city policies.
